off to a good start

First thing this morning, my best employee gave me notice that he�s leaving our agency to accept a better offer at a city agency. Since this particular employee know exponentially more about the CDC�s grant processes than anyone else around here (including management), this news disheartens me.

It also demonstrates to me (yet again) that trading on people�s loyalties will only get you so far. If our agency would recognize that people work to make a paycheck, and quit acting like we�re soldiers in some holy war, we might have less turnover.
